Summary: A mass suicide of a cult group sets off a series of events to uncover who the One is. Told expertly from the past and present tense tells the tale of three siblings who survived the mass killing.

Comments: Marwood digs deep into cults and the culture of there beliefs and does brilliant page turner of a story. Really enjoyable and a bit surprising finale.

Summary: Peter Ash the now well developed character in the Petrie series is asked to look for a young boy who his a Grandmother believes is still alive possibly in Iceland. A great mix of back and forth from one year ago to the present tells this story in a creative style most enjoy. Peter is extremely relentless and still deals with a high degree of “static.”

Summary: Migrant workers are being transported to England for work no one else wants to do. Living in awful conditions while there money earned is taken from them and trapping them in inhuman conditions. When DI Bradshaw finds a body in a park swinging from the trees she is called back into action to solve this odd looking suicide. Bradshaws complicated life leads to a terrific crime novel.

Comments: Steiner is at her best here. Social commentary within the novel is spot on and I was nodding away as the pages turned. I hope Ms.Steiner the best of health and recovery. She’s delightful crime writer. 👍

Summary: A young teenage farm girl growing up with an eccentric father in beautiful central Minnesota narrates this crime novel where boys are being abducted and released by an unknown suspect. Based on the true crime events surrounding Jacob Wetterling and the odd happenings of the late 80’s. If you have liked Mindy Mejia and C J Tudor novels this one will excite you. 

Comments: Avoid peaking through the barn slats, and basements with dirt floors. Just saying!

Comments: I am enjoying the back reads I missed since coming to read Atkins. He will submerse you in rural a south culture and not hold back. Please take sometime to get to this wonderful reading crime series. It’s some of the best offerings today.

Summary: The second novel by Burke has Robicheaux and his wife back in the bayou and witnessing     a plane crash where Dave saves a little girls life. The girl becomes a major character in Burke’s series and still is written today. Dave fights heart break and loss and finds no peace. A great novel.

Comments: Priceless reading for genre characters.
